Catalyst Academy Charter School

The mission of Catalyst Academy Charter School is to create a world-class K-8 school where all children are prepared for college, career, and life. We are focused on providing a great public school option for predominantly African-American communities in the East End of Pittsburgh that today do not have access to high-quality neighborhood schools that prepare students for college. This includes the Hill District, Garfield, East Liberty, Lincoln-Lemington, Larimer, Homewood, and East Hills. Catalyst Academy Charter School leverages best practices from some of the nation's leading urban charter schools that routinely prepare low-income students of color for college. Additionally, we have a holistic view of education that couples a strong academic foundation with robust learning in the arts, STEM, and physical education. Catalyst Academy is the first new elementary/middle charter school approved in Pittsburgh in six years.
