The English Language Institute: University of Pittsburgh

The mission of the English Language Institute (ELI) is to teach and serve students in the Intensive English Program and English language learners in the community, to provide credit and non-credit English language support courses for matriculated students and teaching assistants/fellows at Pitt who are speakers of other languages, to provide expertise for various other University-related endeavors that involve English language learners and teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL), and to contribute to the profession of TESOL.
