Organization Profile

American Cancer Society-Colleges Against Cancer

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. For over 100 years, the American Cancer Society has worked relentlessly to save lives and create a world with less cancer. Together with millions of our supporters worldwide, we help people stay well and get well, find cures, and fight back against cancer. Designed and administered by college students from across the country, Colleges Against Cancer (CAC) enables students and staff to work through different channels to help people stay well, get well, find cures, and fight back against this disease. CAC's strategic directions focus on advocacy, cancer education, the American Caner Society Relay For Life, and survivorship. Local chapters work alongside their local offices as well as national leadership to support the efforts of the Society in these directions. These four strategic directions of Colleges Against Cancer serves as a structural base for the program, nationwide and at each individual chapter. In addition to leadership within the four strategic directions, there are also several other vital positions to a CAC chapter's structure.
