United Way of Southwestern PA - Be a Middle School Mentor

Be a Middle School Mentor is the largest school-based mentoring program in our region’s history. We match hundreds of adult mentors with middle school students to learn about real careers and jobs, to develop big dreams for their future, to understand the importance of doing well in school, and to have another caring adult role model. The program takes place at 18 schools in Pittsburgh (see below) where mentors meet their mentees once/week for 45 minutes to catch up and participate in activities that help students think about who they are, their aspirations, and the steps they can take to get there. More about the United Way: United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania serving Allegheny, Westmoreland, Fayette & Southern Armstrong Counties, is a change agent and efficient community fundraiser that improves lives by addressing critical community needs.
