Tuesday Night Monologue Project
https://www.facebook.com/tuesdaynightmonologue/In January 2017, after being publicly shamed by a white woman for not attending the Women's March in Washington, D.C., artist vanessa german convened a gathering of women & non-gender binary humans interested in writing through the intersections of politics, culture & spirit. A poet, writer & performance artist, German is a self-proclaimed, "story-person", she says, "I believe in the power of art, and I believe in the power of stories. And, after that woman shamed me in public, the rage, humiliation & sorrow wanted to birth a true & lasting bitterness within me. And what could come from that? It was a place to work through, and how better to do that than through art? Conversation. Writing. Bravery. 10 weeks of writing. 8 women. 10 guest artists & editors. Read-throughs, rehearsals, pizza & wine-- and now, we have it. After writing & sharing conversations on race, sex, violence, magic, death, grief, mental illness, & more, we invite YOU to laugh, cry, rage, drink wine & enjoy the evening length performance of The Tuesday Night Monologue Project. This performance is NOT suitable for children.
