Doors Open Pittsburgh

We believe in celebrating Pittsburgh’s diverse history and architecture, and so we work to “open” our buildings and cool spaces for all to enjoy and appreciate in a unique and innovative way. In 2017, over 60 iconic and historic buildings will open their doors for free tours to the public. Unlike other Doors Open/Open House cities, there is no primary financially sponsoring foundation or organization….just one very inspired Founder, lots of grassroots support and an amazing contingency of event-day volunteers! Doors Open Pittsburgh was founded as a non-profit (501c3) by Bonnie Baxter, a native Pittsburgher, who was inspired by a similar event she attended while living in Chicago. DOP debuted in October 2016. 4,000+ people showed up to experience this unique annual event.
