Food Recovery Heroes

Started in 2013, Food Recovery Heroes is the University of Pittsburgh's chapter of Food Recovery Network and is a group devoted to reducing the amount of food waste on our campus. Food is recovered from the kosher section of Market-To-Go, Market Central, Einstein Bros. Bagels, and the Oakland Bakery, and donated to several places including Focus, Jubilee Soup Kitchen, the Pitt Pantry and the School2Career after-school program.
